Environmental research

Ecotox is committed to working with other organisations to understand and protect the natural environment.

Integrated Pest Management

Ecotox has the necessary expertise to monitor and identify the pest and beneficial arthropods in areas where Integrated Pest Management programmes are being developed.

Probabilistic Risk Assessment

Current regulatory requirements are based on a deterministic approach to risk assessment and do not take into account sources of variability.  Ecotox is a member of the EUFRAM research project evaluating probabilistic environmental risk assessment.

Biodiversity Research

Ecotox staff have a diverse range of skills which can be deployed in many types of environmental research.  These skills include invertebrate sampling in crop and non-crop systems; taxonomy; handling and culturing invertebrates and data analysis and interpretation.
