Non-target arthropods - Arable crops

Arable studies typically involve a replicated design with up to sixteen 1 ha sized plots sampled by pitfall traps for ground dwelling species, water traps for flying species, visual counts for aphids and suction sampling for foliar dwellers.  Studies produce species-level data for ground beetles (Carabidae), rove beetles (Staphylinidae) as well as for linyphiid spiders, lycosid spiders and Collembola.  Data are interpreted with reference to the ecology of each species.
